Dementia Care

Supporting people on their dementia journey

Dementia Care Services

Dementia affects around 800,000 people in the UK, so good dementia care is essential.

At Short Notice Care, we have over 20 years’ experience in supporting people on their dementia journey.

Being diagnosed with dementia can be a difficult and confusing time, full of uncertainty and frustration. We are on hand to support both the person affected and their loved ones to be able to manage expectations and promote ways for the person to be able to manage their dementia.

A familiar face, continuity of care and routines can be a real benefit to the person living with dementia. Changes in environment and routine can be a very scary and daunting time for the person with dementia. This is why receiving care and support in their own home is a preferred choice for many.

At Short Notice Care, we look at the ‘person behind the illness’. We believe in the importance of knowing the person and their past and present. We do this by having a holistic approach to care. This is shown in our in-depth and personalised care plans and assessments.

We understand that the behaviours and symptoms can be difficult to understand, so we are on hand to support both the loved ones and the people on their dementia journey. It is essential that we encourage independence and freedom of choice, whilst also retaining the sense of identity.
All our care staff are fully trained and experienced to deal with all forms of dementia including Alzheimer’s disease.
